Justice Doesn't Happen in Silence: The People Stand up to ICE!

Prompted by the murder of Renee Nicole Good, people of conscience gathered in Denver to protest the brutalization of recent ICE raids. This demonstration highlights the outrage throughout the country and the demand for accountability and justice.

Join Free Speech TV in acknowledging the recent tragedies in Minneapolis, while honoring the groundswell of resistance, solidarity, and mutual aid that is growing nationwide in response to authoritarianism and the lawless ICE enterprise. You can also join your neighbors from where you sit right now by contacting your senator and registering your views on ICE and Border Patrol funding  at (202) 224-3121. When we lock arms, we win!

Rising Up For Justice

In this episode of Rising Up for Justice, Sonali Kolhatkar speaks with Hannah Appel, a co-founder of Debt Collective, a debtors’ union fighting to cancel debts and defend millions of households. Debt Collective is building a world where college is publicly funded, healthcare is universal, and housing is guaranteed for all. They discuss the systemic roots of debt within a capitalist economy, as well as the ways Debt Collective uses narrative strategy to change the cultural framing of debt. More info at www.debtcollective.org.

Hannah is also an associate professor and the associate director of the Institute on Inequality + Democracy at the University of California, Los Angeles, and co-author (with the Debt Collective) of Can’t Pay Won’t Pay: The Case for Economic Disobedience and Debt Abolition (Haymarket Books, 2020).

Gaza: Journalists Under Fire, from Brave New Films

FSTV is proud to announce that it will premier Gaza: Journalists Under Fire, a documentary from Brave New Films. Just this past week, three journalists were among 11 Palestinians killed in an Israeli attack on Gaza. Journalists Under Fire documents the lengths journalists go, and the ultimate prices they pay, to expose the brutalization of the people of Gaza to the world. Look here in coming weeks for details, including date and time.
