How are YOU feeling after last night?
I'm not sure how to start. I'm sure you watched the debate last night...or at least have been listening to the commentary this morning.
Good Morning,
I'm not sure how to start. I'm sure you watched the debate last night...or at least have been listening to the commentary this morning.
We knew we had a long, steep climb ahead of us leading to November 5th...but wow. I feel like that mountain just got a lot steeper.
Like many nonprofits, FSTV's fiscal year ends on Sunday (June 30th). That probably doesn't mean much to you, but for us it means closing out all of our expenses from the last year and a fresh start come Monday, July 1st.
In some ways, that fresh start on Monday is a relief, knowing what a steep climb we have going forward toward this critical election.
But it won't erase the significant financial gap we're facing from this last year. And that gap feels like we're going to have take on this climb without any gear.
I'm a climber. Have been for many years. When you climb a mountain you need a handful of critical items to make sure you can safely complete the climb. Things like climbing shoes with sticky rubber soles to help your feet navigate tricky angles, a rope and harness to keep you from falling to your death if you lose your grip, and chalk to absorb any moisture in your hands so you can get a solid grip on the rock.
This financial gap we're facing feels like looking up at the jagged rock face in front of me and reaching for my chalk, but it's not there.
We MUST play our part over the next five months. There is no choice. We can't weather another Tump presidency. So if we have to climb this mountain without chalk, without a harness and rope, and without climbing shoes, we will. But I'd certainly like to make it to the top and also survive to see January 6th.
All this to say, you can help right now. You can make a donation to FSTV to help close this gap before Sunday. You can ask your friends and family to make a donation. You can post on social media and ask your whole social network to make a donation to FSTV.
YOU have the power to give us back our chalk. To put the harness back on FSTV. To slip those climbing shoes on our feet so we can take on this climb together and live to see the other side of this mess.
You in?
