Celebrating Progress Amidst Legal Turmoil

June 10, 2024

Pride Month kicked off strong as people worldwide celebrated with openness and excitement. Communities are coming together to honor the progress made and to continue the fight for equality and acceptance. Festivities include parades, rallies, and various cultural events that showcase the diversity and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community.

In the midst of these celebrations, this week we examine the upcoming sentencing hearing of former President Donald Trump and the possibility of him being sent to jail. His conviction on 34 felony charges has drawn significant attention, raising questions about legal precedents and the impact on future cases.

Additionally, Michael Ray Richardson joined Edge of Sports with Dave Zirin to discuss his reinstatement after being banned from the NBA due to drug use, his new book, and life after sports.

As we celebrate, we also remember the importance of standing together against discrimination and injustice.

Join Gay USA and FSTV to kick off Pride Month, Ann and Andy cover a range of LGBTQ+ news and stories. Including the Prime Minister of Thailand’s participation in Pride marches, and Mexico’s newly elected pro-LGBTQ president. Rise and Resist, an LGBTQ+ activist group, continues to challenge former President Trump in the face of sweeping Right wing attacks and threats against LGTBQ+ people.
